Ember watched it happen in a daze, she glanced at Kayrin and than she moved. Her feathers ruffled just the slightest as she grabbed Jai by his scruff. "What the hell are you doing Jai?"she screamed at him as she too shifted into the form of a wolf. A low protective snarl rippled through her throat as she stood infront of Kayrin. Her eyes never left Jai's though. What are you doing, Jai? Her voice soft in his head.

Devin had turned around to peer back at the female chasing after him. He sighed, knowing that even though he had run away pretty fast, she'd catch up eventually because as a Cheetah, he could feel his stamina failing. He grunted, turning back into a human before he quickly turned into an owl. He had to get away....He was tired though, and although his wingbeats led him away, they weren't as strong or as fast.

Kayrin grunted and stood, blood pouring from his shoulder, soaking the soft, black t-shirt he wore. He turned his glazed gaze to Unole before he spoke. "I, Kayrin, Lord of the Nephilim, hereby do pledge my allegiance to the safety of my mate and her people for as long as I may rule. We are honored to be your allies." Unole looked stunned again; he'd been recovering from learning his daughter had found her mate, but now Kayrin, one of the most secluded of all the Kings, was offering an alliance.
"We, the Schimba, are honored to accept your offer, Kayrin," Unole said softly.
"So it is said, so mote it be," was Kayrin's response.

Devin had sped up his pace, swooping up higher into the air. His wings slowed to a stop, gliding through the air. He started flapping again before he tucked his wings and stooped down, barreling towards the earth. They were closer to the town but it probably didn't matter anyway. He ducked and flew over obstacles, remaining close to the ground. At one point he started elevating himself again, so he was above tree level.
