Sadie glanced up when Jessie spoke up, eyebrows furrowed as the medic spoke up, a soft smile on her face. She'd missed this place so much, though, she knew this was kind of dream. She's have to leave soon enough. "That sounds fun," she paused. "I can go and grab one?" She offered.

Jessie shook her head. "Nah,I'll go get it. I need to pick up a few carrots for Champ anyways." She smiled at the image of her huge horse munching on carrots. She ruffled Zoey's curly hair from where the small girl was helping make sandwiches. "Stay right here with Aunt Fay. I'll be right back." Zoey nodded and went back to stacking bread and turkey while Jessie headed out the door.

"Okay sounds good." Sadie said quietly and sighed before taking over Jessie's position making sandwiches at the counter to busy herself over something. She shifted nervously once in a while, but otherwise she appeared calm. She hummed under her breath or chatted to Fay nonchalantly while they waited for Jessie to return.

Fay scowled when Jessie dissed the food that the facility had. "Not all of us can eat whatever we want, including that sugary crap." She gestured to her own body. "Some of us have to race and to do that, we gotta eat healthy." She finished up making the sandwiches before settling down onto the ground and gesturing for Zoey and Sadie to join her. "So, Sadie, what have you and Charlie been up to?" She asked curiously, reaching a hand out to touch Zoey's curls. She had a habit of doing that. Curly hair was fascinating, especially in ringlets. She'd never been able to resist poking her finger into a curl to let the hair wind around her fingertip.
Bokeh wasn't angry by any means, more anxious and worked up, feeding off his high energy than anything else. "Get back up on his back and warm him up along the outer rail. We're going to hold them in this time, just to get them moving over a long distance." Aiden was still waiting for the return of his colt, but had only a moment left to wait as the outrider returned with the prancing colt. Tranny was also rather worked up, broken out in a sheen of sweat and everything. "Just hold him there for a moment. I wanna check his legs, make sure he's fine to run." He asked of the outrider.

Zoey didn't pull away when Fay played with her hair. She was so used to people messing with it, she barely noticed it anymore. Her hair resembled Merida's in so many ways. It was bright orange and curly and just a mass of hair that bounced with every move the child made. Her mother always found creative ways to tame the curly mane in cute ways, but it never stayed for long.
A little while later Jessie returned, not carrying a watermelon, but rather rolling it across the ground. It was huge! No wonder the petite woman couldn't carry it. "Sorry it took me so long. I tried putting it in the car by myself for, like, ten minutes. After the guy that sold it to me stopped laughing he helping me put it in the back. Took me another ten minutes just to gently put it on the ground when I got here." Jessie said, a wide grin on her face. She blew her curly hair out of her face and pulled it back into a high ponytail from the hairbow around her wrist. "I figured you'd want to stay here for a while longer, Sadie." she said with a smaller, understanding smile. "You guys ready?"

It was a surprise, but Adam actually crept down the stairs eventually. It was obvious that he was freshly showered, dark brown hair fluffed up from a towel but still wet. His t-shirt clung to his scrawny frame and his dark blue eyes were dull, shadowed with weariness. He walked straight into the kitchen, either completely missing the little powwow going on (that included Jessie's fantastically large watermelon) or purposefully ignored everything. He grabbed a glass out of the cupboard, seeming to ignore the fact that he'd had a water bottle upstairs, and filled the glass to the brim. He rooted around in a cabinet where the jockeys had built up a supply of pain medication, pulling out some Tylenol. It wasn't particularly powerful medication, at least in his opinion, but he took it nonetheless, tossing it back and chasing it down with water. He wondered briefly about taking some Motrin as well, but decided against it. He eventually leaned back against the counter.
Fay muttered something about Sleeping Beauty as Adam entered the kitchen, but otherwise, she ignored his presence. "Zoey, you're in kindergarten, right?" She asked in a cooing voice, looking at the sweet little girl. "Or are you in first grade now?" She honesty couldn't recall the appropriate ages for each grade and, perhaps she'd forgotten Zoey's age, too. She was, however, distracted by the enormous watermelon that Jessie rolled in, jumping up and squealing. "That is a BIG fruit! That's as big as Charlie, easily!"

Now it's tinier. I can change the size smaller still but that's less bothersome. XD Sorry, it was just really bothering me. But if you wanna learn how to change the size of an image, ask me!

[Brothers... They are so annoying.]
Sadie smiled at Fay. "Not much, outside of racing." Sadie shrugged before she finished up the sandwiches. Her eyebrows raised when Jessie came in with the watermelon. "Why didn't you get a smaller one?" Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion on how the the tiny medic had manage to get that thing in here.
"Here, let me help you." She said quietly, setting Charlie down to help pick up the giant fruit, nose wrinkling. "It's a lot heavier than Charlie." She said quietly, her back to the door. She didn't notice or see when Adam slipped into the kitchen. She helped Jessie move the thing to the counter before turning around, eyes widening at the sudden appearance of Adam.
Charlie squealed when her father came into the room, and toddled over to grab onto his pant legs, a big, goofy, toddler smile on her face.

Adam winced faintly at the squeal emitted by his daughter, but he bent to pick her up, grunting slightly in pain as his body protested. "Aghhh." He groaned quietly but pressed his lips gently to his daughter's forehead. "Hey, Charlie, baby. What're you doing here?" There was a faint smile playing at his lips and his eyes lit up as he studied his daughter's round, rosy cheeks and bright eyes. A guarded look came across his features, however, when he looked up in Sadie's direction. "Why are you here?" He asked, adjusting his grip so that Charlie rested on his hip. It was easier for him to hold her that way, less painful.

Charlie giggled and thrashed a little before calming down, her grin still plastered on her face. She began babbling, eyes wide and bright. Sadie's forehead furrowed and she glanced towards Jessie for a moment, her gaze almost helpless. "I have a string of races across the country for the next week and I came by to see if you could watch Charlie." Sadie said quietly, rocking back on her heels.

[*lurklurklurklurkl* I DO WHAT I WANT]
Zoey laughed. "I'll be in first grade when summer is over Aunt Fay!" She said, as if it was the most obvious answer. She didn't know that grown ups didn't get summer vacation since she was with her mother all day at work.
Jessie raised her eyebrows at Adam's bluntness. She kept her mouth shut and searched for a knife to cut the watermelon. When she found a huge knife she wickedly grinned, raised it above her head, and said "YAAAAASSSSSSS." made sure to hold it where Zoey couldn't bump into while she made her way back to the watermelon to carefully slice it in half.
