Sadie just needed to be alone for a little while. She sank down where she had buried her favorite horse, eyes downcast. "Hey old girl. It's been awhile." Sadie said quietly, brushing a few leaves that had fallen on the flagstone that was used as a headstone of sorts.
Jessie's comments had bit close to home, and yes, they had hurt. She was confused at the moment, wondering what she was doing here after all. She at with her chin resting on her knees, eyes closed as she tried to calm her racing heart.

"You're that busted up." She said with a shake of her head. "Every bruised elbow, split lip, scraped knee, is in here. At least the ones noted in the hospital." She said as she pulled out a few papers held together with a paperclip. "And these... are all of the prescriptions you've ever been on. It's only a few pages...but that's a lot of meds Adam." She said as she looked through them all. "Okay. From what I see you've been on a few high dose pain medicines, but that was mostly after surgery or while you were in the hospital with the cancer..." Her gaze flitted to Adam's face before returning to the paper. "But... I can give you a high dose pain reliever for a few days and we can see if that helps. The only side affect is that it can make you really drowsy, so you can't drive while you're on it. And you can't take it if you have a race coming up. It takes twenty four hours to be completely out of your system."
Zoey took Fay's hand, quietly walking along with the woman and baby. She loved going to the stable.

Adam groaned inwardly and shook his head. "That's no good then, Jess. You know I race often." He flopped back onto the table, going limp. "Anything you have that isn't gonna make me drowsy or loopy so I can still race?" He asked hopefully. "What's that stuff that I've been on? I just ran out. It didn't make me drowsy and it still worked." If anything, he'd still accept the prescription Jessie had mentioned, and take it, but race anyway. He was headstrong, stubborn, and determined to race. "Anyway, can I get something for at least today since I don't race until Thursday? I puked up the pills you gave me earlier, Jess." He didn't sound concerned in the slightest by admitting that he hadn't kept the painkillers down. She'd told him to eat or he'd get sick and he'd ignored her, hadn't he?
Fay was confused when Sadie just took off, leaving her daughter with her. "Alright, c'mon, Zoey, let's take Charlie to go see the ponies." She said softly. She boosted Charlie back up onto her hip, and offered her free hand for Zoey to take, eyes glowing with adoration. It was pretty obvious that Fay would probably make a great mother one day. She obviously loved kids and had experience with them from being an older sibling. She just wouldn't settle down long enough with a man, or consider putting her career on hold. Not when she'd worked so hard to get to where she was. Granted, she wasn't riding horses like Adam was, but she had trainers that liked her.

Charlie was smiling widely up at Fay, and was giggling every so often before babbling. She wriggled every now and then, but otherwise she was a doll as the trio made there way out towards the Stables. "PEEWEE!" Charlie squealed. The splash colt was her favorite horse, she loved to tug on his ears and tickle his nose. It was odd, for such a jumpy horse, that he enjoyed kids so much. "Zephy?" Charlie inquired, tilting her head ever so slightly at her 'Auntie Fay.'
Sadie sat there for a while longer, lost in thought as she gazed up at the deep, blue sky. She'd had a lot on her plate recently, and she just needed a breather in order to calm down. Eventually, she scrambled up and cautiously made her way back towards the stable yard. She assumed Jessie was still with Adam, and that Fay was out in the stables with Charlie. She was half tempted to leave, but thought better of it and made her way towards the stables, expression guarded.

"I told you so." Jessie said in a sing song voice. "I'll just call up the pharmacy and have them refill your prescription. It should be ready to pick up in an hour. They are surprisingly quick." She said as she picked up the phone.

Adam let out a heavy sigh in response, raking a hand through his still-damp hair. It curled faintly from the persisting wetness, but with his brisk hand movement, he forced the hair into an upright position, closer to what his hair was like on a day to day basis. He listened lazily as Jessie talked on the phone before sitting upright. He wasn't sure if Jessie was going to give him an exam or not for the suspected arthritis. He'd ask when she was done, otherwise, he'd probably be expected to go talk to Sadie at the very least, to get the arrangements of watching Charlie.
Fay smiled and led the girls into the barn, straight to PV's stall. The bay colt flipped his ears forward, lowering his head to brush his nose into Fay's boob. "Ok, loverboy, enough of that." Fay pushed his nose away and held Charlie forward first. "We'll see Zephy later. He's busy in the breeding shed, sweetie. He's gonna be a daddy for more babies next year." She smiled brightly at the thought.

Sadie watched Fay, Charlie, and Zoey from the entrance of the stables, a light smile playing on the corne of her lips. It was rather sweet and adoreable. Charlie was grinning war to ear and she started babbling to her favorite colt, and held out a pudgy hand to pat his forehead. "Peewee! I missed you!" The toddler squealed, eyes wide as she kept patting PV.
Sadie eventually approached the other female jockey, a sheepish grin on her face. "I'm sorry about that..." She said, glancing away at PV as she held a hand out to the splash colt.

"Ok that's done. Stand up." Jessie said as she leaned against her desk.
Zoey was down at Unknown Champion's stall, squealing as the huge giant snuffled her hair softly. He was getting old and spent most of his days resting in his stall or out in the pasture. Gray hairs peppered around his muzzle, but he still had the energetic brown eyes of a newborn foal. He adored his Jessie's little foal. Her bright hair reminded him of the carrots she sometimes brought him as a present.

Fay turned when Sadie appeared, and she shrugged. "It's no big deal. You know I don't mind you leaving me with Charlie now and then. I freaking love kids and she's so adorable and sweet. You gotta be careful though because I just might steal her for my own. She's just so damn cute," She said and then blurted out without meaning to," Adam really left his mark on her." She glanced down the aisleway to check on Zoey, eyes softening. "Champ's getting old," She said, hoping that Sadie would skip entirely over her remark she hadn't meant to say. "Still so gentle, though."
Paranormal Vortex's ears flicked at the loud squeal, but he remained calm otherwise, holding still to let Charlie play with his forelock. His forelock was a mixture of black and white, and the base of his right ear was also touched white, but his ears were bay otherwise, dark tipped and flicking about at the voices. He soaked in the attention, while Tremolo, nearby, watched guardedly. He didn't like kids as much and had developed into a horse that, while still close to PV, was a bit more of a jerk. Of course, he couldn't be compared to Gallant Marines in any way. He just was known to be nippier and pushier. Adam usually tried to keep Zoey away from Tremolo, just in case he bit her.
Adam stood up and glanced at Jessie. "Do I need to remove any articles of clothing, Doc?" He was going for cavaliar, but even with Jessie, the thought of removing his shirt made him antsy. He'd always been uneasy, even with his wife. How she hadn't noticed and commented he had never figured out. He doubted the medic would need him to remove anything, and he knew that if she did, it was strictly for medical and professional means.

Hope sat beneath an old oak tree that was placed just outside of the mares and foals pasture, her arms were wrapped around her legs and her chin tucked in between them. Headphone wires were just softly visible from underneath her mass of chocolate brown curls. Her icy eyes were hidden behind aviator sunglasses and a novel was placed gently beside her. Not a sound came from her except from the occasional yawn.
