Ren got up, barely glancing at his sister or Ren, he followed the poor Schimba to the kitchen. He stopped dead in the door way when he saw she was crying."Shit."he said softly, frowning for a moment, before going back to their usual coldness."Hey. You okay?"he asked, his voice harsh. His eyes roaming her body for an injuries and well.. to check her out. Lauren wasn't his usual type. He almost always went for the tall all legs type of girls and than he would fuck them and leave them without a backwards glance. He really was cruel.

Lauren froze instantly, shooting to her feet. Her jaw clenched, eyes sparkling. "Dandy," she managed, though her voice was soft with apprehension. What was he going to do, now that he'd caught her crying? He didn't tolerate weakness; that much Lauren knew. And with Unole out, Jai due on guard duty in the main house, and Ember going off on a date, soon she'd be alone with him in the Royal Manor house. As if the day could get any better. She shook slightly, desire punching her in the chest, along with fear.

"Liar."The prince said coldly, staring the princess's best friend down. "You know in my kingdom, we don't tolerate weakness. The Schimba are too weak as it is. We are a dying breed and we're fighting extinction. There cannot be weakness among our ranks. Tonight. I shall teach you to be strong. Now go. Serve your future queen just like the servant girl you are."he spat and walked slowly toward her. He stopped just infront of the young schimba girl and looked down at her. He smirked and than turned and walked away. He paused in the doorway,"She won't be able to save you."he said, than headed on his merry way back to Ember and Jai. 

Ember ate rather quickly and than headed up to her room to think about everything that had happened to her in the last few days.

"Hey," Jai said, swinging by Ember's room. "I'm on guard duty on the main house tonight. Good luck on your date."
He disliked the fact but would respect it.

Lauren drew herself to her full height, grinding her teeth. "Yes, sir," she ground out.

Ember looked up and nodded,"Wait."she said, softly, reaching out to touch his arm."Why didn't you tell me?"she asked, her eyes never leaving his as she asked him. It was strange to her being in love with someone, but destined to be someone else. It was odd to her and she didn't like it. The thing was that she loved Jai. She always had ever since she was alittle girl. She loved him. But she was starting to like Kayrin quite a bit too. Even though they had spent little time together. She knew so very little about him except how haunted his past was. Well that wasn't true. She also knew how attracted she was to him and how she hoped to jump his bones. But that attraction wasn't enough. She loved Jai and so the games began.

Ren stared as Jai and Ember headed up to her room,Hmm.. Found her mate, but is in love with another. Odd very odd indeed. he smiled as a devious plan started to form in his twisted mind.

Jai was quiet for a moment as he considered his answer. "I was scared," he finally said. "Not much of an answer, but the truth. My mind told me you'd be mine one day, and that I needn't worry about pursuing you. And that's how I almost lost you. It hit me when I realized that you'd found your mate that I would lose you if I didn't say anything." He smiled. "Enjoy your date, Ember. I'll see you in the morning." Jai turned and left, heading for the Schimba's main manor house.

Lauren's hands curled into a fist, heart pounding with fear. She swallowed, moving to clean up the mess of dinner, trying to keep her mind off of Ren and his threat - no, not his threat; his promise. She was scared, but another emotion was stirring in her heart: anger. She was pissed that she didn't have the authority to stand up to him; she could, of course, take her concerns to Unole, but she had no evidence other than her word to back up her claims.

Ember watched him to, a little stunned to say the least. Jai scared? What was going on I'm the world? Her eyebrows furrowed when she saw his smile. Was he giving her up? It wouldn't surprise her if he did. He had like she had a disease all her life and now suddenly he loved her? It just didn't make sense. She shrugged and fell back onto her bed with a loud sigh. She just laid there for a minute her thoughts everywhere, before she finally got up and got ready to see her mate.

Ren's plotting ceased when he remembered his threat to Lauren. He didn't know why he said it, he just had. He didn't plan on hurting her. No. All he wanted to do was be near her. He sighed and ran a hand through his black hair as he thought of Lauren.

A soft tap at Ember's window announced the arrival of her mate. Kayrin stood on the earth beneath the glass, peering upwards. His wings shone in the moonlight, seeming to glow a midnight blue in the night. His eyes gleamed, a smirk etched on his face.

Lauren fled to her room once the cleaning was done, heart pounding, hands shaking. Her lower lip began to quiver and she nipped it, attempting to calm herself.

Ember laughed when she saw Kayrin, she simply shook her head and opened the window. She smiled at him, her gaze drinking him in."Hey handsome."she said as she reached out and stroked his magestic wings.

Ren smirked when he heard the floor above him creak. He knew Ember would be leaving soon. "Lauren!"he called, his voice was cold as ice.
