Alistair's squawk of anger but retreated. Within a few minutes, a rush of air shot through the forest around Ember and her friend. A massive eagle, akin to those in the Lord of the Rings movies, gently fluttered to the earth. As his talons sank into the earth, Jai's form melted away, replaced by the pissed-off looking Schimba. "What?" he growled, eyes darting towards Lyric for a brief minute. "Am I allowed no peace on my day off?" His leaf-green eyes smoldered, lip curled slightly to reveal his pearly white teeth. He was furious; he wanted peace and quiet, wanted to be alone, but Ember just had to ruin that. What did she want to berate him about now?

Ember simply smiled at him,"No."she said and than turned to her friend once more. They talked in hush whispers for a moment, before the girl with pastel colors as hair broke away from the princess and slowly began to circle the schimba with her hands in oversized gray sweater,"Hmmm. He's cute enough. Obviously has an attitude problem though."the Strigoi said and than she reached out and poked him in the ribs. "He'll do. Are you sure you want him though? Why not the other? He obviously is way nicer than him and more willing to listen."she said. Ember simply shrugged. Jai was going to kill her after she told him why she had disturbed him again.

Jai's leaf-green eyes darkened, turning into a smoldering emerald color. "I have an attitude problem on the day I'm supposed to be off and the Schimba princess ruins that by running off and acting like a child when she attacks me," he snapped. When she Strigoi touched, Jai reacted instinctively and spun, wrapped his hands around her wrist and twisted her arm around her back before he shoved her away. "Don't touch me." Jai had an issue with Strigoi, considering he'd been enslaved by Costin for eleven years. "What do you want, Ember?" He growled, shifting his pissed-off gaze to the Schimba heir.

Ember hhhhmmmpphed as she began to circle Jai. Her eyes never left his,"Well we were discussing you as a prom date, but you obviously would be a grump about it."she said,"Also. You no longer get days off after this. From now on you will train me. That is all."she said and waved her hand as if dismissing him. She turned than to Lyric, who stood in all her 5'1 glory. Lyric eyes said she could murder him if she really wanted to. Lyric maybe small but everyone who knew her knew to be afraid of her. She was attitude and she definitely was bite.

"That's not your call," Jai said softly, an undercurrent of fury and hatred ringing in his tone. His leaf-green eyes bored into Lyric, simmering with the pain of memory. "Your father commands me. You could've asked nicely instead of attempting to order me." His gaze never wavered, though he'd calmed down a tad. "And I don't think that's why you really brought me here." Outwardly, he seemed somewhat jumpy, but inward, Jai was ready for a fight. He might not be able to take out Costin, but he'd be damned if he didn't take at least one Strigoi with him. They'd ruined his life, drove his dad to murder his mom, and Jai hated them more than he'd ever hated anything else, except maybe his father. He wanted them gone - wiped off the face of the earth; the vampire's leader had been vying for Schimba territory for as long as Jai could remember, and too damn many of the Schimba people had been cut down, slaughtered by Costin's warriors and marauders. "So what the hell do you really want?"

"It's not my call?"Ember repeated in outrage, fury lit in her eyes as she walked up to Jai. "I am the Schimba princess... I am you're past, present, and future. I have every right to command you. In fact, it's my birthright. So you'd best learn to obey me or there can and will be consequnces. I'm already at a disvantage with the rest of the races. I am the only female leader. Schimbas are looked down upon because I am the head of my line. I will not be a mockery. So yes. Jai, you listen to me now. There is a war coming. I know it. You know it. And I will not let this war be the end of my people. So in order to do so I will train. I will be the warrior I am meant to be and you will train me."she said and than she turned left the small clearing. Once far enough away she shifted into a black panther and slipped into the shadows. She others she needed to meet.

"But you don't control me," Jai sighed, but Ember was already gone. His words were true; though Ember controlled many of her people, Jai was head of the Guard, and the only person that he was required to answer to was Unole. While Ember could attempt to order him anout, she had no jurisdiction over him, and would not until Unole passed into the next plane. Curling his lip at the Strigoi, Jai turned and walked in the direction Ember had run off to, reaching out to Unole as he did so. The Schimba King informed him of the coming summit, and that he wanted Jai and Ember to accompany him. Jai responded accordingly, and allowed his form to melt away, turning into that of a jet black wolf. He loped after Ember, following her scent trail.

Ember tilted her head as she heard the soft rustling of leaves behind her. Immediately, she sprang into the nearest trees branches. Her tail waved as she waited for whoever was following her.

"Observational," Jai commented, "but you're looking the wrong way." With that, the Schimba dropped onto the branch that Ember was perched on, landing behind the large jungle cat. "Sometimes, above is where the attack comes from." Jai straightened, leaning against the tree trunk. He was the epitome of calm, expression and gaze bored and emotionless. Oh, he was royally pissed at Ember, but he never really showed any emotion. The burst of anger with the Strigoi had been a rare occurrence, prompted by the vampire's appearance.
