Coat Color: Dark Bay Splash (16hh)
Markings: High Stockings, bald face that extends to base of right ear, small kidney-bean shaped birdcatcher spot on left flank
Job: Racehorse
Personality: Paranormal Vortex is a kind Thoroughbred colt with a few odd ticks that he picked up from his surrogate dam, Nevada Virtue. He is uncannily clever, and has let himself out of his stall a number of times. As a foal, his inquisitive nature, sense of adventure, and his intelligence led him into trouble often. He managed to make his way into the bunkhouse as a foal and discovered his absolute favorite treat: cheese puffs. He definitely lives up to one part of the 'highstrung' definition: he spooks easily. From something as innocuous as a little spider dangling from the rafters to a simple chair, to something that would be understandable. Despite his easy to spook personality, he is a relatively calm horse for the most part. He tends to get in trouble on the occasion still, but for the most part, so long as he's given ample attention, he remains calm. He seems to enjoy small children, which is shocking, considering that he's spooked by so many things, but apparently loud children do not upset him. He and Tremolo get along extremely well and are pasture buddies. Adam jokingly calls the two of them the "Brotherhood."
History: Paranormal Vortex was born at Cross Thoroughbred Racing Facility out of Tempered Grace, a mare that Fay Underwood owned, and by Summertime Jubilation, a stakes winning sire. His dam died shortly after giving birth after internal bleeding brought on by labor. PV was bottle fed by several people at the facility and stalled with Nevada Virtue as his surrogate mother. He eventually picked up several of the dominant white mare's odd antics but developed his own personality. He was a tad difficult to train but, with Adam's hard work and a trainer in the area, the colt soon learned manners and went through training as a racehorse. He has developed a close bond with Tremolo and the two can often be seen playing with one another. He hasn't shown too much talent as a racer, but he may prove himself as a stud for his coloring.
