Coat Color: Deep Chestnut (16hh)

Job: Active Racehorse
Personality: My Guy Red has changed a lot since the Triple Crown races. Formerly a confident, highstrung Thoroughbred, Red became almost the opposite of his former self. He was known to be jumpy in the paddocks, showing a tendency to rear and shy away for no reason and absolutely, always needed to be ponied around, rather than walk by himself. It was noted that despite sound schooling, he absolutely loathes the gates and that he often has to be loaded last or reloaded to avoid problems. For a while, he lacked confidence in himself and his rider, and as a result, often didn't try hard at anything, just going about in a manner as if he just wanted to get through the task. When he first was purchased by Adam, he was timid and showed little interest in anything around him, including other horses and humans. With Adam working to improve his confidence by letting him win practice runs, he has begun to perk up. He is highly protective of his food and it is wise not to come between him and food, for he has a tendency to nip. He is quite fond of Adam for all his hard work and care and has returned to racing. He is a bit calmer now, especially since Adam has figured out what calms and excites the stallion.
History: My Guy Red was born at a large breeding facility affiliated with Stonestreet Stables in Ocala, Florida. He was trained by a semi-retired trainer named Argus Conway and took part in races along the East Coast. His first year of racing, it took him two tries to break his maiden, and to find his pace in the race before he really started to win races. As a three year old, he won the Gotham Stakes, which would enable him to participate in the Kentucky Derby. It was here that he ran against Celestial Zephyr and ultimately came in second place. This pattern followed for the next two jewels of the Triple Crown, where he placed second in each, though he did come very close to winning the Preakness Stakes. By the end of the three big races, he was a changing horse. He came out of the Belmont tired and put less effort into each workout and race he was put into. He stopped winning and quit trying, soon fading to nothing. He eventually was sold and somehow wound up at an auction in Kentucky, where Adam found him. He won the bid and brought the stallion home with the intent to bring him back up to form, believing he could still race for a bit longer, if only he could regain the stallion's confidence in himself and his rider. The plan would then be to retire him and send him to the breeding shed.
