I am heartbroken. I had to put my dog to sleep today. It happened so suddenly. He was with me the majority of my life. The vet said he had a tumor tucked away and it exploded. Internal bleeding, and his intestines were failing because he was so old. He was with me the majority of my life, and he was extremely old for a lab mix. 15 years old.

I'm sorry, Amber. That is a good, long life that he lived and he spent it being loved by and loving the heck out of you.

After Adam had come to visit after Sadie initially woke up, she had been moved to a hospital only 15 minutes outside of the Cross. It'd been nearly a month and a half since there, and Sadie had been getting progressively better, if only slowly. She could sit all the way, and wheel herself in a wheelchairs when out in the halls, but she had almost zero mobility of her legs. She'd been assured, even though her back injury was severe, that she would most likely walk again. There was only a slight chance she would be stuck in a wheel chair all of her life. The jockey clung to that notion, because it scared the hell out of her knowing she might have to be wheeled around until she died. Ever so slowly, the sparkle in her eye was shining, even though it was dim. A faint shade of red had returned to her cheeks, and she was becoming strong and stronger with every passing day. The one thing that seemed not to return was her memory. She'd been told the basics of what had happened the past three years. The marriage, the kid, the divorce. But it was as foreign as some stranger's life. It wasn't her own. She was so confused all the time, and the one thing that gnawed at her was the sudden self hatred. She loathed herself because she had left Adam. How could she have been so so stupid? She felt ashamed and so, so guilty when she was around him, even if she didn't remember what she had done. The memory loss has been a complete and utter oddity to her doctors. She hadn't sustained anything more than a slight concussion from the racing accident, yet, she couldn't remember anything about it or the three years leading up to the event. They speculated that it was a form of PTSD, that she was suppressing the traumatic accident, and it somehow affected the rest. When they had seen this, it was normally the victim had only forgotten the accident, and maybe a few hours to a few days leading up to it. Sadie's on the other hand, was a much more serious incident. The jockey was just a few days away from being allowed to go home. She had utter mixed feelings about it, because she didn't really know what classified as home anymore. Apparently, it meant a place with a toddler she didn't recognize outside of the frustrating familiarity of her, and an ex husband she didn't remember divorcing, let alone marrying. Yet, she was so tired of staring a blank, white walls, and the ever present smell of sterilization clinging to her nose. She wanted out, just to anywhere other than Cross.

I have no inspiration, Horse. I don't know what to do with this anymore. How the hell is Adam supposed to react to all of this? He divorced Sadie and now she suddenly doesn't remember that she had married and divorced Adam, or that she even had a child. I literally have no idea what the heck I'm supposed to do here.
